Mala'ai is part of the Hawaii Island School Garden Network (HISGN), which supports the growth of school gardens through professional development, advocacy, mentorship, and technology. Our culinary garden is located in Kamuela, HI.

Mala'ai: the culinary garden of waimea middle school cultivates the relationship between students and the land through growing and sharing nourishing food in our outdoor living classroom. Our work reaches beyond the boundaries of our garden connecting land stewardship, culture, health and pleasure with lifelong learning.
The Hawaii island school garden network cultivates relationships among our children, teachers and the 'aina, by providing a vibrant network that supports the growth of school gardens. Hisgn provides professional development, advocacy, mentorship, and technical assistance.
