Program areas at Mapping Boston Foundation
Mapping Boston supports the programs of the norman b. leventhal map center which consists of public education, exhibitions and access to the maps and atlases of the Boston public library, a collection of over 200,000 maps. Further, Mapping Boston supports the walk to the sea, a public history tour that is used by the over three million tourists that visit Boston annually and the citizens of the city of Boston. The map collection is identified in form 990, part x and schedule d of the form 990, part iii.
The Foundation is to design and develop educational programs centered around historic maps that trace the growth and transformation of the city of Boston and new england.
