Program areas at Maria Sharapova Foundation
The Maria Sharapova Foundation, Inc. Entered into a grant making agreement with the united nations develpment programme (undp) effective as of october 27, 2008. Under the agreement, the Foundation made grants to the undp totaling $161,700 with grants beginning in 2009 and ending in 2013. The 1st installment under the agreement was made on july 9, 2009 in the amount of $25,200, the 2nd on july 7, 2010 with $21,000, the 3rd on june 27, 2011 with $31,500, the 4th on november 11, 2012 with $42,000, and the 5th on october 14, 2013 for $42,000. No further grants were made thereafter, or in 2016, as sufficient funds were already available for scholarships. The purpose of the grant agreement is to establish a scholarship program and provide financial support to selected students and universities from the chernobyl-affected area of belarus.

The first installment under the agreement was made on november 12, 2012 in the amount of $115,000, the 2nd on january 6, 2015 for $65,000. The purpose of the grant agreement is to provide financial support to selected sports programs from the chernobyl-affected area of belarus & russia.
