Program areas at Marion-Crawford Prevention Programs

Community Programs - This program includes QPR Suicide Prevention, Strengthening Families, and Hidden in Plain. QPR Suicide Prevention is a training that teaches anyone how to respond when someone they care about crisis and experiencing suicidal ideation. Strengthening families is a multi-session family program designed to reduce youth substance abuse and improve family cohesiveness. Hidden in plain sight is an interactive parent education program that walks parents through a virtual bedroom showing hidden and not so hidden signs of risky behavior and mental illness.
Junior Teen Institute - This program is specifically designed for eighth grade students. Students have the opportunity to attend a weekend leadership conference to learn skills to become better drug-free leaders in their schools. After the conference, JTI students bring their skills back to their school to provide awareness about making positive choices to their peers as well as opportunities to have drug free fun. All public schools in both Marion and Crawford counties currently participate in the Junior Teen Institute program.
Teen Institute - This program is based on the principle of peers encouraging peers to make positive choices and is the oldest peer prevention program in the nation. Students can participate in the program at a school, county, and state level, each providing a different level of education and opportunity to build leadership skills.
