Program areas at Marshall County Farm Bureau
Public policy programs in order to protect & promote the agriculture industry the Marshall co Farm Bureau through its structure of volunteer leaders supports public policy efforts at the local state and national level. This is accomplished through both legislative & regulatory monitoring, communications with members & public awareness programs about farming & rural life & provide information about the agriculture industry. Volunteer board members participate in sponsorship of meet the candidate activities & yearly policy meetings with their legislators to educate them about ag policy & how the industry is impacted by lawmakers.
Youth leadership development the Marshall County Farm Bureau supports youth ag organizations both financially and with volunteer hours. The organization is a primary sponsor of the Marshall County 4h organization. Board members assist with local club meetings and serve as judges for contests. The fb donates money for awards and for needed supplies. The Marshall County Farm Bureau also supports high school seniors who are planning on majoring in agriculture by awarding scholarships annually.
Agriculture leadership activities the Marshall County Farm Bureau structure of organizational leadership provides many opportunities for member leaders to keep abreast of issues that affect agriculture. Local board members attend organizational & educational meetings each month. They participate in other local agricultural & educational meetings each month. They participate in other local acricultural civic & community organizations. Leaders attend district state & national conferences to network with farmers & other agriculturalists to learn about current issues facing agriculture. A highly developed committee structure provides leadership opportunities for members through meetings, regular communications and agriculture activities.
