Since 1950, the l'englLenglele orchestra Fund has been providing stringed instruments for the education of school children in the city of jacksonville, fl who plan to perform in an orchestra, as provided by the will of Mary evelyn l' engle. It currently has 477 stringed instruments which it makes available to school children including violins,violas, cellos, and bass violins, with different sized instruments in each category. Although not limited to public school students, most of the instruments are used by students in the duval county public school system, duval county, Florida. This is the 20th largest school district in the nation and the 6th largest in the state of florida.it has approximately 200 schools, with a total enrollment of approximately 130,000. Activities include promoting the program, finding appropriate storage space, preparation of forms to be used when borrowing and/or returning an instrument, periodic inspection of the instruments for inventory and maintenance/repair purp
