Supporting agriculture in Education at the secondary and postsecondary levels has helped fill a leadership and resource void within the Maryland agriculture community. Four staff members work exclusively in this area of Education and have helped grow programs frommiddle school to the university level. This includes two staff members who support the operations of ffa in Maryland.
Other program activites include sponsoring various seminar/workshops, providing educators and others in the Agricultural community an opportunity to better understand the agriculture industry and thereby promoting agriculture to children, adults, and businesses. Farm based Education an educational program for students visiting farms during the school year. The organization collaborated with the Maryland department of agriculture to establish the midatlantic farm based educator network. This fee-free network is organized to share information, educational resources, and plan professional development seminars for farm based Education.
