Kansas CITY IN 2006

MASFFC organized and hosted MidAmericon II, the 74th World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon), an all-volunteer-run annual literary convention which changes location each year, and which focuses on science fiction literature and authors, as well as art and other aspects of the genre. It took place August 17-21 2016 at the Kansas City Convention Center. There were slightly over 7,000 members of the convention and slightly under 5,000 of those attended. The Hugo Awards for the year's best of the genre were presented. The convention was operated under the rules of the World Science Fiction Society, an unincorporated literary society; more information is at www.wsfs.org.
