Program areas at Mason County Climate Justice
Mason County Climate justices regenerative agriculture program focuses on improving both soil and community health. In collaboration with our partners, we establish and maintain accessible food forests that increase food security, strengthen local resilience to Climate change, and improve neighborhood community relations. In addition, we provide thousands of fruit/nut trees and hands-on education at no cost to community members of all ages looking to grow their own food.
Mason County Climate Justice brings neighbors together to deepen our relationships to one another and the home we all share. Through interactive workshops, educational presentations, and documentary filmmaking, we examine local impacts of the Climate crisis, develop creative solutions, and learn to work in solidarity with one another.
Mason County Climate Justice defends local legacy forests through legal action and grassroots community organizing. We bring together a broad and diverse coalition of people committed to protecting our oldest, most biodiverse and structurally complex forests for environmental, economic, recreational, health, safety, spiritual, and cultural purposes.
Supporting just transition/local tribal sovereignty, including support for traditional culture, language, and practices, with an eye to returning Mason County to a place of abundant lands and waters to sustain the local population.
