Program areas at Masonic Village Elizabethtown Residents Association
The Association collects funds for the employees throughout the year through an employees appreciation gift fund. A campaign is run each year from april 1 through june 30. The Residents are not allowed to tip Village employees and this is to get them a little extra. Human resources is notified as to how much each eligible employee is to receive and deducts all applicable payroll taxes which is then posted to their earnings records. Residents are informed that amounts given are not deductible as donations on their personal income tax returns.
The Association sets funds aside to a helping hands fund throughout the year to provide relief to employees who run into financial difficulties. In early november the Association reviews any remaining balance in the fund. The remaining balance is written to the sell chapel and added to a similar fund run by the pastor who then disburses the funds as needed.
The Association runs a greeting card project around christmas. A flyer is sent out around the beginning of november informing Residents that for 10 per person, they can have their names listed in a greeting card which is sent to all Residents. The project pays for the greeting cards with the remaining funds paid to Masonic charities which then distributes the funds to various programs within the Village.
Helping hands fund the Association runs a helping hands fund for the benefit of the employees who are struggling with bills. In early november, the balance is checked and a distribution is made to the sell chapel to be added to their outreach fund which is similar to the helping hands fund but allows for greater assistance. Help for heroes monies are collected at the monthly Association meetings and mailed to the grand lodge of Pennsylvania. The money is then distributed to the servicemen in the military.
