Mass. Council for the Social Studies sponsors the northeast regional conference for the Social Studies which attracts over 2,000 educators in new england, n.y. and n.j. It offers clinics, meetings, museum education, displays and material exhibits. the 46th conference was held on april 4th-6th, 2016, in sturbridge, mass.
History day is a contest held at schools, regional sites, and a state site where students in grades 6-12 show results of their original research. No contest was held during the fiscal year.
A one day state conference, human and civil rights and the Social Studies was held in marlborough, ma on october 28, 2015. Registration fees were from $25 to $85 per participant. the conference included 20 workshops presented by organizations, historians and educators from Massachusetts for educators and Council members.
Opus bono program for high school honors students excelling in Social Studies.
