Program areas at Massanutten Regional Library
Information technology - mrl provided 4,727 free wi-fi user sessions at all locations. Mrl provided 9,802 computer user sessions to patrons through our public access computers.
Reading programs & events - Library materials, services and programs are provided to the city of harrisonburg, and page and Rockingham counties through a network of seven public service locations and the mrl's website. In fy 23, mrl tallied 217,482 visits and circulated over 705,637 items. Mrl hosted 2,064 programs that were attended by 44,283 people. Mrl issued or renewed 8,855 Library cards and answered 25,857 reference questions. Mrl has continued the prescription for reading program working with a group of area pediatricians to provide books and reading materials for babies and their parents. These items are distributed during baby wellness visits. Mrl also participates in a "1,000 things before kindergarten" program.
Collection development & circulation - mrl added 17,052 items to our collection including the following: audio cds - 299, books - 11,789, dvds - 669, e books - 251, e audio books - 438, magazines - 2,738, reference materials - 319, various other materials - 549. Mrl added financialfit, an online financial literacy database, and has partnered with a local non-profit to provide a camping gear Library available for check out.
