Program areas at Maternal Life International
The Faithful House program is a centerpiece program that provides couple-centered development for improving the health and social well-being of families through ongoing training programs in multiple sites in Africa. Over the course of its implementation it has reached nearly 300,000 couples providing them with knowledge and skills to improve their couple relationships be faithful and avoid HIV improve their food security share responsibilities and domestic tasks and further respect for women. Over the past fiscal year 3,200 people were reached by this program directly in Kenya Tanzania Uganda Nigeria and Haiti.
Portable ultrasound machine was provided to rural Iceme Clinic in Arua Uganda to improve prenatal and labor and delivery care and improve maternal and neonatal outcomes in rural health center.
In 2023 we ran an intensive training at a rural hospital in Uganda with a team of 4 physicians and and an administrator. There were 102 obstetrical care providers - physicians midwives and nurses - from 38 health centers and hospitals who participated in the 5-day training.We provided each facility with a myriad of life-saving equipment to reduce neonatal and maternal deaths including anti-shock garments specialized blood pressure monitors for detecting shock and hypertension newborn resuscitation units and training mannequins for team-based management of obstetrical emergencies.
