Description
Distribution of food vouchers to the local needy through participating non-profit agencies and churches, thanksgiving sponsorship of food drive and the sponsorship of community dinners. All funding accomplished through public support appeals. Our mission is to raise funds and collect food to disburse to the local needy, free of charge, through participating non-profit agencies and organizations with special attention given to the holiday season.

Program areas at Mayors Feed the Hungry Program

Consistent with the programs purpose, funds were raised through an appeal of the public in sarasota and manatee counties. As a result of the publics response more than 2,500 twenty-five dollars food gift cards and other denominations of food cards cost a total of $84,743 were distributed to participating non-profit agencies and churches to forward to their needy. During 2023, over 29,000 pounds of food valued at $122,371 was collected and distributed to these same participating agencies and churches.
