Program areas at Mcalister Institute for Treatment and Education

As one of san diego's largest resources for individuals and families impacted by substance use and co-ocurring health conditions, Mcalister Institute offers a full continuum of substance use disorder Treatment for individuals across the lifespan that includes screening and assessment, individual and group counseling, family therapy, case management, Treatment planning, housing supports, linkages to physical helath, co-operative day care, reunification support, and recovery services. This includes 11 outpatient programs, 4 residential programs, and 2 detoxification programs that served a total of 6,155 individuals and families last year.
9,123 individuals experiencing homelessness or at-risk of experiencing homelessness were supported through a variety of outreach, engagement, case management, and supportive housing services. This includes direct housing support for 6,869 individuals.
3,010 individuals and families received prevention, Education, screening, brief intervention, stabilization, diversion, and/or other supportive services to address needs related to alcohol and other drugs.
