McKenzie County Outdoor Education Center

The McKenzie County Outdoor Education Center (MCOEC) will provide training and education to safely handle hand guns, long guns, and archery equipment for community members, both young and old. MCOEC will educate both the public and local community on responsible firearm handling and stewardship of lands to expand the sporting way of life. The Education Center will serve all members of the public and local communities and will perate on indoor and outdoor ranges developed by McKenzie County Sportsmans Club, an unrelated nonprofit entity. The McKenzie County Outdoor Education Center will operate and provide courses within designated classroom space as well as the indoor and outdoor archery range, outdoor trap range, 300 yard, 200 yard, 100 yard rifle ranges, rim fire range and a 25 yard pistol range.The education center will serve Watford City and the surrounding areas and will encourage the growth of sportsmanship values and responsible handling of firearms. MCOEC will encourage good citizenship in the community and uphold constitutional rights of the second amendment. MCOEC offers supervised classes with security cameras and fencing for added safety measures.For the year ended December 31, 2022 the MCOEC secured land to be able to provide the services above.
