Program areas at Mcpherson Housing Coalition
The emergency solutions grant (esg) is provided to assist with the organization's initiative of providing residence to those who are at risk of becoming homeless. The organization will fund back rent, rent, back utilities, utilities and services to help families gain stability in their current Housing environment. The esg program is designed to identify sheltered and unsheltered persons experiencing homelessness, as well as those at risk of homelessness, and provide the services necessary to help those persons quickly regain stability in permanent Housing after experiencing a Housing crisis and/or homelessness.
The tiny home project involves fully-furnished homes that are 440 square feet each. The cottages will provide a place for families for up to 90 days while needs are evaluated for each family. Through the program, families will receive employment assistance, job training , education, life skills education, and out-patient health and mental health services. Once the needs of the family have been determined by a case manager, the organization will assist the family in finding more permanent Housing. A property manager will live on site.
The tenant based rental assistance grant is a tenant-based rental assistance program that allows people to receive financial support to pay for up to 24 months of rent.
Brush up mac is a program in place to provide home repairs and maintenance for those in the community who are unable to afford those costs on their own.
The community service block grant provides Housing rehabilitation assistance for low and moderate income individuals for projects such as electrical repair, heating repair, and roof replacement.
