Mededirect, Inc provides educational activities and resources to assist physicians, pharmacists and other health professionals to continuously improve the effectiveness and safety over their lifetime of practice toward the goal of high quality care of patients. The broad-spectrum target audience is national and international in scope and includes practicing physicians, pharmacists and associated health professionals. Specific education activities and resources are developed to address the defined needs of both geographic and specialty subsets of this broad audience. For the calendar year 2016, a total of 46 accredited activities and 1 non-accredited curriculum development programs were held. The faculty serving these events numbered 72. The total number of health care professionals participating in these events was 1,697. Mededirect, Inc. makes no grants. The three largest programs in 2016 were: 1. Melinta symposium at idweek 2016: there were 54 attendees at the live symposium and an additional 140 participated in the recorded online program. Participants included physicians, nurses, and pharmacists. 2. Achaogen symposium at idweek 2016: there were 43 attendees at the live symposium and an additional 242 participated in the recorded online program. Participants included physicians, nurses, and pharmacists. 3. Tetraphase pharmaceuticals symposium at asm/icaac 2016: there were 111 attendees at the live symposium and an additional 838 participated in the recorded online program. Participants included physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.
