Trust networkusa: the trust network was founded in october 2020 in recognition of the rifts in our society and in order to prevent violence, reduce division, strengthen our democracy and address legacies of injustice, it is:1. Growing a network of collaboration across the sectors of peacebuilding, bridge building, social racial climate justice, legal and stuctural reform.2. Establishing a first-of-its-kind citizen early warning early action infrastucture developed specifically for the united states3. Connecting International and national-level expertise and advocacy to local initiatives that are convened by community mediation and justice centers on the ground so that communities are supported in determining solutions to long standing problems.mbbi is the organizational host.mbbi had almost 800 volunteer hours valued at approximately $176,000 to accomplish the program goals.
Partnerships: rotary in 2016 mbbi became a recognized service partner of rotary International and has been working with clubs, districts & zones around the world supporting ri's peace and conflict resolution goals through consultations, global grants, conferences, training and more. Mbbi consultingmbbi consulting provides collaborative services to companies, governments, financial institutions, and communities. Mbbi provides situation and organization assessments to identify risks and opportunities to support decision making initiatives. In addition, mbbi designs and implements internal or external dispute resolution systems or grievance mechanisms that allow an organization to know when problems arise and address them at the lowest level possible. Mbbi also assists clients to resolve crises with efficient mediation, facilitation, and community dialogue. Training programs include working with government officials, private sector employees, tribal leaders, judiciaries, religious leaders, law enforcement officers, community leaders, ex combatants and community dispute resolution specialists.
Cambodia/cameroonthis is an innovative transcontinental woman led capacity building process that began in 2019. Mediators Beyond Borders International in partnership with cpcs hosted workshops on leadership in self-determination struggles - lessons and experiences from southeast asia which included discussions on the experiences from movements in aceh, bangsamoro, and cambodia. The program includes ongoing support for non violent resistance, negotiations and trust building.
Trauma -informed peacebuilding(tip) ukrainembbi partnered with the national association of Mediators of ukraine (namu)in serving the mediation community and ultimately the population impacted by the war. Mbbi, alongside namu, organized an intensive online tip program for 25 ukrainian Mediators and facilitators, sponsored by aaa-icdr and usaid. Participants engaged in asynchronous and live knowledge sharing and practiced the concepts in their own work while participating in coaching sessions - all while in the midst of active war. This program continues in other counries in europe continuing to address the impact of the poluation displaced by the invasion of ukraine. Mbbi had almost 600 volunteer hours valued at approximately $125,000 to accomplish the program goals.
Capacity buildingthe global peace training institute is designed to focus on building skills and providing a forum for learning exchange for peacebuilders around the world. This is done though a learning platform that supports synchronous and asynchronous learning and is supported by case consultations and ongoing coaching and mentoring.
Projects/working groupsglobal:ukraine - training and coaching mediators/facilitators on trauma-informed approachesclimate change : strengthening human capacity to build peace and constructively manage conflict at all levels, local to global, related to the climate crisis. Members provide facilitation and mediation expertise to the unfccc secretariat, parties and non-party stakeholders to improve formal and informal communication, negotiation and decision-making processes.assist in the design, development and implementation of mediation, participatory governance and peacebuilding processes related to climate change develop curriculum for use in schools and develop ongoing partnership with other coalitions (such as adaptation without Borders) to address cross border climate impact.mbbi had over 3400 volunter hours valued at approximately $768,000 to accomplish the program goals.
Mediators Beyond Borders International (mbbi)'s mission is to build local skills for peace and promote mediation worldwide. Recognizing that the only lasting peace is the one built by those involved, mbbi advances the objectives of its global partners by promoting skill building for evidence-based context assessment, trauma-informed peacebuilding, post-conflict reconciliation and recovery, cross-sector and network collaboration, project design, implementation, evaluation and peacebuilding leadership. Since 2007, more than 300 distinguished mbbi professional mediation, conflict transformation and trauma recovery specialists have been catalyzing the success of local partners working to build a more peace "able" world in 42 countries on five continents. Accorded special ngo consultative status with the economic and social council (ecosoc), mbbi is also an official observer organization for united nations framework convention on climate change talks and conference of the parties.
