Rotary partnership - in 2016 mbbi became a recognized service partner of rotary International and has been instrumental in supporting clubs, districts & zones around the world. Mbbi supports ri's peace and conflict resolution goals through consultations, global grants, conferences, training and more. The mbbi-rotary working group (mbbi-rwg) seeks to build bridges to increase the peacebuilding capacity of both organizations to advance the common goals of preventing, reducing and healing violent conflicts in communities around the world.projects include:canada, bc - dialogue and facilitation in collaboration with nisga nationsbolivia - developing conflict literacy and enterpreneurship uganda - peacebuilding training for rotary peace fellows, police and prison officersinter country committees, district and zone conferences: peace conversations in turkey, south africa and usa rotary peace fellows global cyber peace conference
Mbbi consulting mbbi consulting provides services to academic institutions, companies, governments, financial institutions, ingos and communities. These include situation and organization assessments to identify risks and opportunities to support decision making initiatives. In addition, mbbi designs and implements internal or external dispute resolution systems or grievance mechanisms that allow an organization to know when problems arise and address them at the earliest possible. Mbbi also assists clients to resolve crises with efficient mediation, facilitation, and community dialogue. Training programs include working with government officials, private sector employees, tribal leaders, judiciaries, religious leaders, law enforcement officers, community leaders, ex combatants and community dispute resolution specialists. The clients in this program remain confidential.
Nairobi congressmbbi hosted its 10th International peace congress in nairobi, kenya, and the first to be located in africa, november 13-17, 202 with the theme of identity, belonging, and migration, designed to address some of the significant impacts on individuals, families, communities, and countries around the globe as a result of climate change, social unrest, political shifts, and many other influences.this was a congress for learning new things, broadening perspectives, and stepping into taking action as an International peacebuilder, negotiator, and supporter. Speakers invited questions, considerations, and actions: how do we define identity? What does it mean to belong? How does migration impact social structures?charting the next decade of collaborative best practices in peacebuilding, the congress was preceded by a peacebuilder certificate training program
Trauma -informed peacebuilding (tip)mediators Beyond Borders International's trauma-informed peacebuilding provides comprehensive training and consultation on the impact of primary and secondary trauma. Recognizing and addressing the effects of trauma results in more effective project design, leading to self-sustaining investment in livelihoods, partnerships, and peaceful resolution of conflicts. Our approach emphasizes inclusivity, cultural competency, and sensitivity to the impact of trauma on communities.we offer programs in trauma-informed practice for funders, multinational organizations, and practitioners in healthcare, education, human rights, conservation, mediation, and humanitarian aid. Mbbi emphasizes trauma-informed practices in its conflict assessments, project planning and programming requirements, design, monitoring, and assessment, consulting and training services.
Working groupswomen in mediation of un multilateral working group: mbbi once again sent a delegation to the commission on the status of women un conference in march 2023. The delegation submitted written statements, partnered with ydc canada and held a side event on "women and young peacebuilders on technology and peacebuilding: global perspectives."
The global peace training institutethe institute is designed to focus on building skills and providing a forum for learning exchange for peacebuilders around the world. This is done though a learning platform that supports synchronous and asynchronous learning and is supported by case consultations and ongoing coaching and mentoringpeaceconnect is mbbi's online learning exchange that focuses on people-centered peacebuilding through interactive events, shared knowledge and global participation. Through this platform, participants connect to our global community and presenters who are proven Mediators, multi-disciplinary practitioners, and leaders within our signature programs. These presenters advocate for mediation worldwide and strive to advance best practices. Mbbi keeps the people affected by conflict at the center of peacebuilding. Peaceconnect reflects this ideology by creating space for engaging and informative conversations that attempt to address critical issues, tackle complex questions, and provide space for the peacebuilding community to further engage in matters op today.
Usa:trust network usa: the trust network was founded in october 2020 in recognition of the rifts in our society and in order to prevent violence, reduce division, strengthen our democracy and address legacies of injustice, it is:1. Growing a network of collaboration across the sectors of peacebuilding, bridge building, social racial climate justice, legal and stuctural reform2. Establishing a first-of-its-kind citizen early warning early action infrastucture developed specifically for the united states3. Connecting International and national-level expertise and advocacy to local initiatives that are convened by community mediation and justice centers on the ground so that communities are supported in determining solutions to long standing problems.
Sierra leoneone of the longest standing project of mbbi with over 600 participants. In preparation for the 2023 elections in sierra leone, the project team planned and implemented a preventing election violence program. The team provided workshops in two areas of sierra leone, training 115 participants in approaches to prevent and mitigate election violence.
