Medicaid Health Plans of America (MHPA)

Membership: mhpa is a national membership organization of Medicaid Health Plans. Our mission is to support our members through advancing and promoting policies that result in access to quality Health care for low-income families and individuals. Through advocacy, public policy and education, mhpa helps frame critical federal and state legislation that positively impacts the delivery of Health care to our country's most vulnerable populations. We are committed to providing innovative Health care solutions for governments that reduce costs, expand coverage and increase the timeliness and quality of public Health care. Our relationships with government entities, private corporations and non-profit agencies help to meet the needs of those we serve, while increasing our commitment to constituency building and partnerships.

Government affairs, advocacy, and lobbying: annually, mhpa provides policy recommendations through congressional hearings, presentations and discussions on rate-setting recommendations, external quality review issues, pharmacy rebate programs and early & periodic screening diagnostics and treatments issues. Mhpa's policy agenda follows numerous policy issues like: actuarial soundness; payment; expansions of Medicaid managed care; chip; dual eligibles; public Health and prevention; technology; and special needs plan issues.

Annual meeting: our three day annual meeting provides the perfect setting to address the challenges ahead. There is a high level of ceo participation and forum sharing that serves an excellent source for networking opportunities.
