Program areas at MSSNY
Membership services. This division is responsible for membership development and services, and staff support for sections and special constituencies. Staff are available to work with individual members, county Medical societies, hospitals or special groups on memberhsip campaigns. Outreach representatives can make personal visits and give presentations on current issues and on Medical socety activities and services designed to help physicians succeed in an increasingly complex environment. the division provides staff support to committees tasked with developing ongoing and innovative approaches to membership development, as well as to the Society's committees on the international Medical graduates, women physicians, and others. Staffing is also provided for special sections devoted to prganizing and meeting the needs of residents and fellows, young physicians and physicians on organized Medical staffs.
Communications/publications in the Medical field. the communications division publishes the news of New York, a monthly digital publication that informs member physicians on issues affecting the health care delivery system in New York State. the mssny enews is a weekly digital publication that reports the most current news affecting member physicians and is distributed electronically to over 29,000 Medical recipients. the communications division is also responsible for the mssny website, job board, social media, and some cme training.
Committee for physicians' health expense. the mission of the committee for physician health is to promote quality Medical care by offering non disciplinary confidential assistance to physicians, residents, Medical students and physician assistants suffering from substance use disorder and other psychiatric disorders. the committee monitors the treatment and compliance of program particpants and provides advocacy and support as well as outreach activities, including preventtion and education.
Conventions and meetings. the divsion of meetings and conventions is responsible for all logistical arrangement for meetings for the Medical Society. This includes the annual house of delegates meeting of mssny, mssny council and board of trustees, meetings of the New York State delegation to the american Medical association, as well as day to day committee meetings which take place within the headquarters building of mssny.
