Program areas at Melwood
Employment services:contract services fulfills Melwood's mission by employing hundreds of people with disabilities in over 70 different federal and local government sites throughout the dc region. In these inclusive work settings, people earn living wages, have health insurance and pay taxes to be fully contributing members of their communities. Contract services generate a margin that enables Melwood to support the workers with disabilities and invest in further opportunities for employment.
Therapeutic/recreational services:provides opportunities for people to camp, travel, or retreat. Camp accomplish provides quality inclusive camping experiences for campers with and without disabilities in day and residential camp settings. Access adventures is Melwood's respite program designed for people with disabilities who are 18 years old or older. The recreation Center is a 108-acre property in a country setting that supports events and retreats for groups of all sizes.
Community services:provides supportive services in community and facility based settings with an emphasis on maximizing community integration. Community services supported people with disabilities in supported employment, personal support, day habilitation, or professional development Training. All services are designed to enable people with disabilities to maximize their independence and inclusion within the community.
