Mendelssohn Chorus of Philadelphia (mcp) was proud to present four self produced concerts during it's 2022-2023 season reaching over 1,500 audience members. During this season, mcp began a two-year pilot program with commonwealth youthchoirs. Their first joint concert held in march 2023, "we are waves, included a commission by the same name by venezuelan composer carlos cordero and poet julie flanders. Mcp also presented four additional commissions in the form of postcard carols at our our annual "a feast of carols". These are carols commissioned by audience members and composed by artistic director & conductor dominick diorio. Mcp also had one contracted engagement with the Philadelphia orchestra for their "glorious sound of christmas" program.
