Program areas at Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas
Family and children services- our children's and family community-based services programs provide individualize intervention, case management, and mentoring for children dealing with a serious emotional disturbance and their families. Children with a serious emotional disturbance receive individualized treatment to include case management and attendant care. Families who are struggling, or identified as at-risk, receive group and individualized family stabilization services. Focus is placed on the family unit, with all members participating in educational activities.
Therapy - mha's counseling center offers a wide range of counseling and psychological services to guide individuals through life's challenges and most trying times. Services include individual and group therapy, education, medication management, and addictions treatment services. All services are individualized to meet the patient's needs and goals.
Adult services- mha's adult community-based services work to promote the Health and well-being of adults who have a serious Mental illness by helping the individual manage their illness in order to lead a healthy, productive life. Services and treatment plans are individualized to promote recovery and independence. We promote increasing community engagement, enhancing personal relationships while building coping strategies and daily living skills.
Community education and services - orientation and in-service training provided to education and Health professionals on community Health needs, Mental illness and rehabilitation.
Compeer (children) - bring volunteers and Mental Health clients together in a one to one friendship relationship. Serving 990 children.
Pathways - provides education and support groups for 505 children growing up in families where one or both parents are chemically dependent on alcohol/drugs.
Senior services - provides companions for low income senior citizens residing in butler, harvey, and sedgwick county.
Residential care - provide residential care services for persons living in facilities for the disabled.
