Program areas at Mercy House Global
Mercy House Global sponsors three Maternity homes in kenya called The rehema rescue center foundation, a local non-governmental organization. The program provides hope and support to vulnerable young girls who have become pregnant through desperate and often violent circumstances. In 2022, Mercy House Global rescued six pregnant girls and saw six new babies born. Between 2010 and 2022, 70 girls have been rescued and 70 babies have been born at rehema House. At The three residential homes in kenya, The teen moms receive weekly trauma-informed individual and group counseling. Beyond meeting physical needs, The programs provide for spiritual discipleship and educational training. Tutors provide The girls with a basic education with a goal to reintegrate them back to school or to transition them to a vocational job program once their children reach The age of two. When The girls reach this transition point, Mercy House Global's sponsorship program provides for their school fees, uniforms, and books, as well as for their children's education. Vocational training ensures that The teen moms do not end up homeless or victims of human trafficking after their time at rehema House. The girls are introduced to a variety of vocational skills including hairdressing, salon skills, technology, music classes, baking, cooking, and sewing.
