After the August 8, 2023 Maui wildfires, the organization provided financial support for the feeding efforts conducted by Merriman's Restaurant in Kapalua and Monkeypod Kitchen in Ka'anapali. In total, this joint effort provided over 67,000 free lunch meals to those impacted by the Maui wildfires from 8/10/2023 - 11/10/2023. The meals were available at Merriman's Kapalua during first 30 days after the fire. Since cell and internet service were down during that time, the organization also provided west side residents with internet access through Starlink. From 9/8/23 - 10/6/23, meals were available for pickup at the Whaler's Village roundabout in Kaanapali as well as the end of the driveway at Merriman's. From 8/12/23 - 11/6/23, nearly 38,000 meals were delivered to those who were unable to leave their homes, first responders, volunteers and community hubs.
The organization provided scholarships to two students attending the culinary program at Hawaii Community College and to 17 culinary students at UH Maui College, including 15 students who were directly impacted by the Maui wildfires.
