Program areas at Mesquite Arts Council

Arts Council Programming. The Arts Council educational programming continued at a robust pace. Weekly Tote-and-Go projects for 100 families, monthly Third Saturday art activities at the Mesquite Farmers Market, and producing monthly video content for Crate Your Own and MAC Doodles for the MAC YouTube channel requires the assistance of many artists. Artists to teach art activities to kids. Artists to create video content and other artists to produce and edit videos for other artists.Performing artists are also important components for the Arts Council concert series. These included the Spring bi-weekly Courtyard Concert Series, Jazz Breaks, Music in the Park, and Off the Rails Concert. Approximate No. of Participants 83,600.
Dedicated Endowment Programming and Freedom Park. The Mesquite Symphony Orchestras attendance and online performance sales have made consistent improvement and approached the Arts Council for funding to produce an afternoon childrens concert, and two concerts featuring their outstanding wind section. The Arts Council approved an additional grant for their request.The Mesquite Arts Theatre had almost consistent sold-out performances last year. The theatre has been in talks with Arts Council staff about additional funding for a childrens musical next summer. The Arts Council will request a proposal for consideration and continue supporting the theatres efforts in community programming.New signage for Freedom Park was purchased and installed to replace the original signage that had faded. The installation was completed prior to the 2024 911 ceremonial events.Approximate No. of Participants 19,650.
Local Support of the Arts Organizations. The Mesquite Arts Council is distinctive due to the resident art organizations that receive operational grants from the Arts Council and use the Mesquite Arts Center as their base of operations and performances. Arts Council staff started providing more promotional support for the Mesquite Symphony Orchestra, the Mesquite Community Band, and the Mesquite Arts Theatre. The Arts Council hired and assigned interns to each organization to provide graphic design and content for each organizations performance season. Then the Arts Council staff produce online multi-platform content and ads for all the arts organizations. Approximate No. of Participants 15,630.
