Program areas at Messiah Lifeways Community Support Services
Messiah Lifeways Community Support Services (mlcss) provides a number of important Services to the south central Pennsylvania region, offering older adults options to age in place and stay active in the Community. These Services include Messiah Lifeways adult day Services, Messiah Lifeways at home, mechanicsburg place senior center, and west shore senior center. We continue to focus on growing Community Support Services and serving more people in the Community, especially those with limited resources.continued on schedule o.some notable accomplishments for mlcss in the fiscal year ending june 30, 2024, are as follows:messiah Lifeways continues to serve a vulnerable portion of older adults who need to or choose to age in place with adult day Services and Messiah Lifeways at home. Our adult day Services' average daily census was 17.52 clients. Messiah Lifeways at home continues serving individuals in their homes. At home provided 35,634.50 hours of non-medical home care to 162 older adults in cumberland, dauphin, perry, and northern york counties this past year. Messiah Lifeways at home continues to grow its concierge Services, which provides short-term customizable Services from a personal assistant to help clients with downsizing, organizing, gardening, holiday or seasonal decorating, meal planning tasks, and much more. The program has been well received and in demand. In the 2024 fiscal year, at home averaged 8 clients a month through concierge services.mechanicsburg place senior center averaged 1,878 visits per month by older adults who utilized the senior center every month, and an average of 621 meals were served per month in the fiscal year. Mechanicsburg place is a program of Messiah Lifeways and is supported, in part, by a grant from the cumberland county office of aging and Community Services, the Pennsylvania department of aging, and the u.s. department of health and human Services administration on aging. West shore senior center averaged 2,717 visits per month by older adults who utilized the senior center every month, and an average of 851 meals per month were served in the fiscal year.
