Program areas at Michael's Place
Michael's Place is proud to report that this year, we welcomed nearly 300 new participants, experienced a 35% increase in program attendance, assisted 11 schools through loss of students or faculty/staff, provided grief support to nearly 4,000 individuals across 18 counties in northern michigan.central to our efforts was the expansion of in-school grief support groups. We provided in-school support groups to 14 schools with an increase of 70% student participation. We have a duty to provide grieving children with the tools and support they need. Children's grief is unique, and grieving children, if left unsupported, will become grieving adults.our team of 160 volunteers contributed 2,500 hours of service this year, including 10 newly trained facilitators who will provide direct grief support to the bereaved in our region.
