Program areas at MAP
In 2023, map (miadvocacy.org) handled 22,806 cases and helped 43,257 people. This includes helping 27,789 people through our local field offices (legal services of south central Michigan; lsscm.org) with civil issues such as family law, evictions and housing related matters, expungement, income protection, and access to healthcare. Through our statewide programs (Michigan statewide Advocacy services; michigansas.org), we responded to 862 support requests (training, case consultant and/or research); we conducted 26 task force meetings reaching 1,090 people; the new and improved Michigan legal help website had 5.7 million pageviews and helped more than 70,000 people prepare legal forms; and launched 11 new articles and six new do-it-yourself tools.
