Michigan Pet Alliance

Mpa works to establish best practices and improve standards of care for animal welfare for Michigan shelters, home-based rescue organizations and Pet owners while also working to eliminate cruelty and neglect. To achieve this work, mpa produces a semi-annual state-wide conference which includes national experts and cutting edge research; produces on-line webinars and roundtables; provides on-line and in-shelter hands-on training; assists shelters in the optimization of their programs and animal care through the blueprint for excellence program; produces an annual awards and grant program; prepares an annual Michigan live release rate report; produces position statements on a variety of issues/topics; advocates for the passage of new laws; and communicates through two monthly newsletters and social media.
