Wdei: the organization's cultural competency and organizational development has been renamed workplace Diversity, equity and Inclusion. This program addresses the individual and systemic obstructions present within many organizations and institutions. A range of clients are engaged from corporations to law firms and marketing firms as well as a range of non-profit organizations, schools and chamaber of commerce. Michigan Roundtable has adapted it's 15 plus offerings for the zoom platform and surveying the marketplace to develop new and relevent offerings. The organization's competitive advantage comes from lessons learned and relationships developed over the past 80 years.
Community engagement: the Michigan Roundtable holds monthly meetings with police and community members to move beyond the past 25 years' work of trust building to take a deeper look at racism dwelling within the officers, police departments and society. The organization also works with communities as they seek to address their Diversity, includion and equity challenges. Our strategic plan has doubling down on working to end racism, with an investment in detroit's most economically challenged neighborhoods, centering the work in the 48208 zip code. This work is being done in collaboration with community movement builders to tailor organizing around the voices of the neighbors. Grants from three major foundations provide the funding to develop this work. The organization also has a contract with the city of livonia to help develop the capacity to address their lived history of racism, manifesting itself in a range of challenges including racial profiling.
