Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society collects, preserves, and displays documents, records, and memorabilia related to the Michigan Supreme Court. Its mission is to promote the study of the history of Michigan courts and increase public awareness of Michigan's legal heritage. Program areas at Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society

The Society preserves the history of the Michigan courts and promotes the study of this information. Educational materials are produced and available to the public through the Society's website or by request. The Society commissions and maintains the portraits of Supreme Court justices. There are currently 96 portraits (95 on display and 1 in storage awaiting presentation). The Society has 375 members on the mailing list and 373 contributing members for 2023. The number of individuals benefited by these activities cannot be estimated.
