Mid columbia children'Childrens's Council provided high quality educational and family support services for children and their families through head start/early head start programs during the fiscal year ending 11/30/2023. The head start program delivered comprehensive early childhood education services to 132 low income preschool children and their families in wasco, jefferson, and hood river counties in Oregon and skamiania and klickitat counties in Washington.
Usda funds the child and adult care food program (cacfp) allowing mid columbia children'Childrens's Council to provide nutritious meals and snacks in child care settings. Through head start/early head start programs 478 children in five counties located in Oregon and Washington were served well balanced meals and taught healthy eating habits.
