Formed in 1966, as a result of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, signed by then President Lyndon Johnson, MCCAC's mission is to promote self sufficiency in families and individuals within the low income economic range residing in the three county area, consisting of Wasco, Hood River and Sherman Counties in Oregon. With offices located in both Hood River and The Dalles they offer a variety of programs that help assist their community members with energy and food assistance and homelessness.
