Program areas at Mid-Columbia Fisheries Enhancement
More than 500 volunteers contributed 1,722 hours to assist with Mid-Columbia Fisheries' mission. The group worked on 37 projects, planted more than 20,000 trees, and added more than 1,100 pieces of large wood to improve three miles of stream habitat. Stewardship was provided along an additional 13 miles of rivers and streams (covering 124 acres) to ensure recent projects reach their full ecological potential. Fish passage was maintained in headwater tributaries and bull trout populations were protected and monitored. Nearly 6,000 people were reached with hands-on education programs, including more than 2,000 k-12 students.
