We envision the diverse communities of the Klamath Basin working together to restore our watershed resources to their historic abundance and function so that our children and their children will have the opportunity to live here with sustainable livelihoods. The mission of the Mid Klamath Watershed Council is to collaboratively plan and implement watershed restoration, coordinate education on land management issues, and promote community vitality by operating a community center and creating sustainable local economic opportunities.

Program areas at MKWC

Fire and forestry: the fire and forestry program facilities and participates in local, regional and national effort to restore human relationships to fire and restore fire processes in the Klamath mountains and beyond.
Plants: the plants program emphasizes the restoration and preservation of native plants through education and targeted removal of invasive plant species, leading to a better understanding of the importance and diversity of plants around us.
Fisheries: the fisheries program advocates for the health of our diverse river communities with a focus on the conservation and sustainable use of our aquatic resources, fish health and abundance, and the understanding, application, and propagation of the best available science, including traditional knowledge, where appropriate.
Community and stewardship: the community and stewardship program connects Klamath river youth and community with place-based experiential learning and stewardship opportunities, and manages a community space for public use to promote community vitality.
