Program areas at Midwest Health Initiative
Information sharing with providers, plans, and other partnersmhi shares information with providers on how care utilized by their attributed population compares to that of others. It also convenes community partners to share information and align actions toward improvement. During this period, mhi business, government and labor purchaser partners worked together with Health plans and provider partners to set the voluntary spending targets for 2023 - 2025. The measures include individual and a composite measure of quality and a measure of total cost of care per person attributed to a medical group. The decisions made through this collaborative work were documented and released in early 2023, and the workgroup continues to meet and track progress toward shared goals. Information sharing with the publicmhi supports the public with insights via websites and reports. The st. louis Health stats, a community scorecard which offers physicians, employers, and others relevant benchmarks from which to compare the results for their population with the region's larger commercial population. Other reports during 2023 focused on biomarker testing to inform lung cancer treatment and an examination of lung cancer screening and diagnosis trends in Missouri, the impact of covid-19 on the commercially insured population, and obesity trends across Missouri.
Healthcare claim voluntary all payer data warehousemhi stewards a voluntary all commercial claims data warehouse for the state of Missouri and its bordering msas. The data represents about 2 million lives.
