Successfully advocated for new Military construction projects are mcas cherry point to Support the new f-35 squadrons, including aircraft maintenance hangar: $106 million; f-35 flightline utilities modernization (phase 2): $58 million; ch-53k gearbox repair and test facility: $38.4 million. All these projects were approved by congress in december 2022.2. Participated in the first north carolina defense summit. Msc representative moderated a panel on the importance of local community advocacy for the Military installation. Panelists included captain (usn) james belmont, co of frc east; dr. kevin griess, deputy garrison commander of ft. bragg; patricia gray, defense department program activity lead for compatible use, office of local defense community cooperation (oldcc); and jamie livengood, student & family Support coordinator for wayne county public schools.3. Advocated for responsible regulation of industrial wind turbine developments in locations that would not interfere with marine aviation training.4. Facilitated community, navy, marine corps, and state of nc public-public partnership utilizing global transpark resources to grow work mission and employment numbers for frc east. 5. Attended association of defense communities policy forum to educate and transfer knowledge about Military community best practices for Support of their Military installations and related economic development.6. Briefed us house members-elect don davis and jeff jackson on marine aviation, mcas cherry point, and frc east. Davis is an air force veteran and jackson is an army reserve jag officer. 7. Briefed nc congressional and general assembly delegations about marine aviation, mcas cherry point, and frc east. 8. Supported nc Military affairs commission, local government boards, and other non-profits in their Support for mcas cherry point and frc east. 9. Monitored and prepared for marine corps transformation and possibly changes in aviation squadron size and overall marine corps size reductions.
