Program areas at Milwaukee Christian Center
Housing: mcc strengthens neighborhoods and makes home-ownership possible by building new homes, making needed repairs on existing homes, and training young adults in the trades. Approximately 24 young adults learned construction skills while building two homes. In addition, mcc made repairs to homes owned by low-income homeowners.
Older adults: mcc offers over 1,000 older adults opportunities to remain healthy, in their homes, and vitally connected to the community. Hmong, lao, latino, african american, and white older adults benefited from services five days a week including: lunch, health checks, exercise, and recreational activities.
Youth development: mcc empowers youth, ages 4-24, to succeed in school, workplaces, and the community through mentorship, leadership and workforce development, academic support, and through arts, athletics, technology, and the sciences. Mcc supported more than 1,500 youth during the school day, after school, and within summer programs at seven sites across the city.
Food security: mcc provides food to 1,000+ adults and children in crisis each month, and connects families to support needed to become self-sufficient.
