Program areas at Minnesota Boychoir
The Minnesota Boychoir trains young men to be outstanding musicians and strives to help them develop a sense of poise and self-confidence. This year the Boychoir was comprised of 124 boys and young men, ages 5 to 18, from many communities throughout the twin cities metropoltan area. They perform in four different ensembles: cantar (ages 5-8) and cantando (ages 8-12) - two training choirs whose emphasis are the basics of singing: posture, breathing, tone production, ear training and reading music. Cantabile - our most visible choir, for boys ages 9-14, who have demonstrated high levels of musicianship, leadership, responsibility, disciplne and commitment. And finally, gradutates of the Boychoir program are invited to return to sing in allegro, our high school ensemble for boys ages 14-18.
