Program areas at MTA
CONFERENCES & SEMINARS - consists of a variety of educational opportunities which provide timely and valuable information to MTA members (and non-members). Some examples include: Annual Vehicle Inspection Certification and Re-certification classes, a one-day Safety Conference, a Driver of the Year Banquet, a one-day Trucking Management Conference, the NEXTLeader leadership training program, and a North American Transportation Management Institute safety training course.
PRODUCT SALES - this program provides safety, compliance and educational materials at a discount off retail for members and non-members. Some examples include: log and inspection books; forms for medical tests; driver qualification files; load securement manuals FMCSR handbooks, hazmat compliance books and emergency response guidebooks.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE - This program provides MTA members with an opportunity for in-depth learning experiences, safety awards, an annual meeting, and the opportunity to network with other members. 2022's event, "Transform with the Times", included the seminars: "Build Trust or Die Amidst Change: How to Build Trust, Lead Others and Grow Revenue," "The Future of Electricity Power & Trucking", "CEO Roundtable Discussions," "Economic Analysis of the Critical Issues in Trucking, and "Preparing for Mergers & Acquisitions."
ENDORSED PRODUCTS - This program provides MTA members financial discounts from and/or access to high-quality products and services and products specially developed for association members. Programs include a tire program, insurance offerings, recruiting/compliance management, communication assistance, and weigh station bypass.
COUNCIL ACTIVITIES: This program consists of Maintenance Council, Safety Council, and the Truck Driving Championship activities. The Maintenance Council is dedicated to improving transport equipment, its maintenance, and maintenance management. The Safety Council is dedicated to: advancing safe policies, practices, and technology; effective risk management; and accident/injury prevention in the trucking industry. The Truck Driving Championships test driver skills in written and road tests that promote safety in the trucking industry.
