Program areas at Missions Inc Programs

Missions Inc. provides services for all genders who are living with substance use disorder through its Mission Lodge, Smith Lodge, Hart House and Mission Heights programs. In 2023, the programs provided transitional housing and support services to 362 men and women. Located on Missions Inc.'s main campus in Plymouth, Minnesota, Mission Lodge and Smith Lodge provides services for adults experiencing chronic substance use disorder, often previously homeless. In 2023, Mission Lodge, an 86-bed facility, operated at 73% capacity with 232 admissions and an average length of stay of 95 days; In 2023, with 21 single and double occupancy rooms, operated at 88% capacity with 30 admissions and an average length of stay of 227 days. Hart House located in St. Paul, MN is a 24-bed facility for women, transgender, and nonbinary people who are in recovery from substance use disorders, operated at 87% occupancy, with 60 admissions and an average stay of 156 days. Mission Heights Supportive Housing, located in Columbia Heights and taking its first client in February 2023, provides services for adults in recovery from substance use disorder and needing mental health support. Mission Heights, with 14 single occupancy rooms, operated 81% capacity with 40 admissions and an average length of stay of 114 days.
Home Free Shelter: Missions Inc. provides domestic violence services through the Home Free Shelter, providing emergency housing and support services in a 30-bed shelter for female-identified domestic abuse victims and their children. In 2023, the shelter operated at 80% capacity, serving 402 women and children in a safe and supportive environment, where women have the opportunity to explore alternatives to living with violence. Advocates facilitate access to a wide range of services responsive to the needs of the women, including housing, legal, financial, employment, parenting and childcare resources.
The Judy Retterath Withdrawl Management Center (JRC): provides detoxification services and clinically managed withdrawl for adults and adolescents in a 21-bed facility located on the main campus of Missions Inc., in Plymouth, MN. In 2023, JRC operated at 58.1% capacity with 1466 admissions and an average stay of three days. Clients are provided with information to assist with the identification of chemical use problems and referrals to appropriate community resources for continued support following discharge.
Home Free Community Program coordinates response to domestic violence in 15 northwest Hennepin municipalities through Domestic Assault Intervention Project. In 2023, the Home Free Community Program provided legal advocacy, educational support groups, information, and referral services to 658 victims of domestic abuse living in the community.
