Mississippi Community College leadership academythe Mississippi Community College leadership academy (mccla) was founded in 2009 to prepare professionals and others to assume greater leadership roles in the Community College system. The mccla is designed to draw upon the wisdom and expertise of College presidents and other individuals in College leadership, as well as individuals who may provide a more global view of the College and its future.twenty-six participants graduated from the mccla in may of 2024, bringing the total number of graduates to 509. Graduates were from public Community colleges, the mccb, Mississippi state university, and Mississippi university for women. The stennis institute of government at Mississippi state university provides assistance and an annual grant of $40,000.
The Mississippi land bank scholarshipthe Mississippi land bank established the ms land bank annual scholarship in april of 2006. In fy 2024, a total of $4,500 was awarded through the Mississippi Community College Foundation to northwest Community College, northeast Community College, itawamba Community College, coahoma Community College, Mississippi delta Community College, and east central Community College to recognize outstanding students.
Mississippi Community and junior College sports hall of famethe Mississippi Community College sports hall of fame (shf) was conceived in the fall of 2006 as a means of recognizing athletes and coaches who have played and/or coached in one or more of Mississippi's public Community and junior colleges. The first induction banquet was held at co-lin in april 2007.mccf works with the shf executive committee to coordinate the annual recognition banquet. Fifteen honorees were inducted into the hall of fame at a ceremony on tuesday, april 23, 2024.
