Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project enables volunteer attorneys to provide equal access to justice for low-income and limited Mississippians through high-quality pro bono legal assistance. In 2022, MVLP hosted 26 clinics across the state, assisting over 500 pro se litigants with legal matters and doubling the number of individuals assisted through clinics compared to previous years.

Highlights for the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project (mvlp) during 2023:- mvlp received a grant from the Mississippi justice fund to increase expungement work across the state and to establish the Mississippi legal ambassadors.- mvlp staff and board collaborated to produce the mvlp strategic plan for 2024-2026.- mvlp sponsored/co-sponsored a record breaking 37 clinics in 2023, which also included an expungement tour in an effort to restore voting rights of disenfranchised mississippians.
