Missouri Budget Project informs public policy decisions through objective research and analysis of state budget, tax and economic issues. Program areas at Missouri Budget Project

Research: the Missouri Budget Project (mbp) staff conducted research on a range of topics including health and economic issues facing the state, and the impact of state Budget and tax policy proposals on missourians and on public services. The reports are made available to the public, policymakers, business and civic leaders and the media. In 2023 mbp produced 15 analyses. The analyses routinely reach 132,000 missourians through distribution through partner organizations.
Tax justice: mbp partners with action st. louis, Missouri jobs with justice, Missouri rural crisis center to conduct research to understand how missourians think about state tax and Budget policies and their impact on local communities.
Outreach: the Missouri Budget Project (mbp) staff conducted outreach through community forums and provided presentations at 24 forums in 2023, reaching diverse audiences around the state. Mbp's outreach through traditional media resulted in 111 media clips in 2023.
