Program areas at Missouri Gateway Green Building Council
Throughout 2022, we continued to assist in creating Green and healthy spaces to live, work, and learn by providing robust outreach and education opportunities, including: year-long opportunities for people who care about Green Building to connect and learn. In 2022, we hosted nearly 30 unique monthly events and coffee break sessions on a wide variety of Green Building and sustainability topics, returning to in person events with our june member social. Our work with k-12 schools continues to flourish. We are back to an in-person Green schools quest and paired 54 schools with Green mentors to implement low and no cost sustainability projects. Through our partnership with the Missouri environmental education association (meea), we were pleased to name 17 schools as 2022 Missouri Green schools honorees, celebrating their commitment to improving the health and wellness of students and staff, lowering their environmental impact, and providing place-based education. We officially launched the Building energy exchange st. louis in march 2022. Be-ex stl aims to advance Building energy performance by mobilizing the professional expertise, funding, and technical resources our local real estate industry needs to address affordability, improve the health and comfort of residents, and position st. louis as a resilient and carbon neutral region. Rebranded to Missouri Gateway Green Building Council (official at the beginning of 2023), which included the development new website and implementation of a new membership and event registration (crm) system. Non-cash contributions for the year ended december 31, 2022 supporting program revenue totaled $10,507.
