Missouri State Medical Association (MSMA)

The msma annual convention was held march 31 - april 2, 2023 in Kansas city, mo. Msma provides continuing Medical education programming to physicians who attend the convention and gives updates on its advocacy efforts. Msma membership sections also meet in conjunction with the msma. The annual convention also serves as the meeting of the msma house of delegates. Through the resolution process, the house of delegates shapes Association policy. New leadership is elected at the convention. The 2023 annual convention had approximately 225 attendees.

Msma has three major publications. "Missouri medicine" is published quarterly, and serves as the Association's journal. It offers articles of interest to msma members. Circulation is approximately 3,000. "progress notes" is published monthly and provides timely information on topics which will affect members' practices. Circulation is approximately 4,000. The "legislative report" is a flyer which is produced weekly during the legislative session. It keeps members updated on the happenings at the capitol. Circulation is approximately 3,500. Msma also publishes various brochures and pamphlets for its members.

Msma serves as a physician advocate in Missouri. In 2023, msma monitored over 700 bills before the Missouri legislature. Msma's lobbyists advocated the position of the Association before numerous committees on a wide array of legislation that would have an impact on physicians and their patients. Msma also represents physicians before State agencies and courts.
