The Arizona farm to school network aspires to inspire systemic promotion and implementation of farm to school and farm to early Childhood education priorities around the state of Arizona. As a network, we work to strengthen the connection between community, state, and nationwide efforts in pursuit of increased access to local food, school gardens, and food education to improve children's health, strengthen relationships with local producers, and cultivate thriving communities.the Mollen Foundation partners with school districts and local chefs to integrate food education (gardening and cooking), physical education and mindfulness into core academic classes during the school day and offers programs to the community after school hours. The Mollen Foundation's mentorship program allows students to utilize the skills they learn and share them with others in the schools and community. Programs reach approximately 18,000 students and adults annually via in person and virtually combined.
Phoenix 10k and half-marathon: this is the race that started it all, bringing the city of phoenix to its feet back in 1976. Founded by dr. art Mollen, who's vision brought our growing, vibrant city together with a sport still in its infancy. It set the charge used to ignite the running boom in Arizona. Over the years, the race has hosted olympic gold medalists, american record holders and more first time race participants than any other event in the southwestern united states. The phoenix 10k and half marathon brings approximately 5000 participants together to celebrate community health.
