Ten years later - currated by karline and ysabel pinyol blasi, the exhibit highlights works included in the mana contemporary collection. Exhibiting artists are a selection from the artists in residence one year program in jersey city and chicago.
Jonas mekas: centennial exhibition and presentation series is a year-long film screening exhibition and program series that will open january 2022 at mana contemporary in jersey city. Mekas, a filmmaker whose entire career was dedicated to exploring the human experience through film, broadened the appreciation and access of experimental film beyond the mainstream to diverse audiences. The film and presentation series will offer free curated viewing programs every month throughout the year that include special presentations from academic partners, curatorial selections from organization partners, lectures, and digital archive access through our website.
Michael heizer: hollywood 24 is a presentation at mana contemporary chicago of a group of unique screen prints produced in 1975 by this renowned american artist and are part of the overall group of screen prints heizer made at gemini in 1975, which also includes the lashonda series. All 24 unique works were printed by gemini g.e.l. With the collaboration of jeffry wasserman and the experimentation, development, and edition printing of jeffry wasserman and robert knisel in 1975. Size 106.7 x 106.7 on arches 88.
In addition to the programs detailed in part iii, line 4a-c, the Foundation also ran additionaleducational programs and events for all ages, including music and dance performances, special events, film screenings, poetry readings, and panel discussions on art and culture to foster community and critical thinking.
